WHAT WE DO

We are a group of like-minded, experienced estate mediators who provide non-partisan dispute resolution services where litigation is pending, threatened or foreseeable. Our services are restricted to the prevention and resolution of estate disputes and include:

• Mediation of contested matters such as cases involving:
• Estate trustees;
• Beneficiaries under wills;
• Dependants;
• Attorneys under powers of attorney;
• Private business owners;
• Co-owners of cottages and other real property;
• Charitable beneficiaries and other interested parties;
• Incapable persons and issues of personal care or property management.
• Family Facilitation Services for challenging estate planning situations.

We bring together expertise and practical experience in mediation, interest-based negotiation and facilitation, plus the law of trust and estates to help individuals and their professional advisors negotiate voluntary settlements to contested estates, trusts or succession issues or challenging estate planning cases. Although we have legal training, we do not provide legal advice, legal representation or any form of advocacy through The Estate Mediation Group.

We welcome referrals from counsel throughout Ontario. We have helped to resolve estates disputes originating in Toronto and surrounding centres such as Whitby-Oshawa, Newmarket, Brampton, Peterborough, Barrie, Hamilton, Kitchener, Oakville, London and Kingston.
